Portraits: Explained If you asked me why I took these pictures, I wouldn't be able to give an answer. If you asked again I would say, I don't know. If you asked a Third time I would say: Fine, I took these pictures because I wanted to capture the emotion in each persons face. Most of the pictures are candid but they all capture something that can only be seen with a close up. The first two pictures (Lost in the woods and Long Pause) are of Maia Bradley. I took Lost in the woods in front of a white background at a uncomfortably close distance, which is why the smile is genuine (from awkwadness). Rising up was a quick pic taken while she was working, also at an uncomfortably close distance. Top notch if I don't say so myself. Something new and On target, are of Claire Smith. Both pictures were taken while sweater shopping, thus the different sweaters in each picture. The goal was to capture the happiness of trying on sweaters, so I took both right after she came out of the changing room, as to not waste any valuable sweater time. The 3rd pair, Succes and Rocky beach, were taken of Destiny Hill. I took these just because I felt like it. Theres no real reason. Chase side and A good book are of Chloe Foster. Much like Lost in the woods Chase side was very staged, I took it in front of a wooden back ground again at a uncomfortable close proximity. A good book was taken while she was hard a work, to capture the focus in her eyes. The last two pictures are of that one dude that sits behind me. Electro forest was was taken in front of the blackboard, I told him to pose but I took the picture between him posing. Lee Harvey Oswald was taken just before his one big shot. You can positively see the focus in him, much like the picture of Chloe, A good book.
